Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community’s established BG Connections is the ideal provider for those in the Charleston area looking for in-home health care. The program, developed to offer another option to those who have difficulty caring for themselves, is both convenient and customizable.
“BG Connections was created to assist residents with activities of daily living with a goal of maintaining their desired level of independence to remain in their home as long as possible,” said Susan Bell, director of BG Connections.
The program has been firmly planted in the Charleston community since 2013. As part of their mission to offer exceptional care and service to the diverse members of their community, the experienced and reputable staff at BG Connections is comprised of private caregivers and certified nursing assistants. The staff at BG Connections are all employees of Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community,–– and improving the home life of residents is their highest priority.
The services offered by BG Connections are designed specifically for those who have difficulty with the activities of daily living. This includes bathing, dressing, toileting and continence. In addition to these basic activities, they also offer help with showering, light housekeeping, laundry and running errands. Often, BG Connections finds that some in-home patients might need help getting groceries, with pet care, preparing meals, medication reminders and running to the drugstore. The caregivers and certified nursing assistants are available 24 hours a day for the needs of each patient.
BG Connections has services that are customizable whether you are looking for long-term care or a temporary solution. This assistance can provide relief during a time of transition or rehabilitation after a surgery or procedure. In addition, BG Connections offers long-term care for those who want to permanently live at home but would like some help caring for themselves on a daily basis.
BG Connections also is available to transport people to their doctor’s appointments. Many times, patients are faced with the difficulty of finding transportation in order for their doctor to perform a necessary procedure. BG Connections helps by having their staff available to drive patients to their doctor’s office or hospital for the procedure and staying with the patient until the procedure is complete. The caregivers will offer a safe ride home after the procedure, which often is required by the health care provider.
